About The Refuge

In 2021, still feeling the effects of Covid, we decided to open a restaurant. We did it in a place with a lot of history: an old threshing floor and an old cattle shed in El Pago* de la Rana, in Tiedra, which is where our name comes from.

We wanted to create a tranquil place, without a cafe, with separate tables and no crowds, to be able to dedicate quality time to each table.

We are very close to the Lavender Interpretation Centre, the Cielo y Tiedra Astronomical Observatory, the 11th-century Castle and the Hermitage and Hospice of Ntra. Señora de Tiedra Vieja.

We believe in a hospitality that is unhurried and uncrowded, with reasonable hours for everyone involved.

Honest, fun cooking with personality.

*Payment (land/village): From Latin Pagos. Historically, the Pagos it was a defined territory or a rural community.
